You will learn how to examine peripheral neuropathy from a functional neurology perspective and learn how to effectively treat symptoms of peripheral neuropathy using acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, and other modalities. Learning objectives on how to assess peripheral neuropathy • Review the neurophysiological mechanisms of acupuncture • Review both peripheral and central effects of acupuncture • Discuss idiopathic neuropathy, diabetic neuropathy, and chemo induced neuropathy • Learn multiple neurological assessments for peripheral neuropathy examination and assessment • Learn how knowledge of functional neurology assists in building a report of findings, setting realistic treatment goals, and quantify patient progress in treatment.
