Motor Impairment & Aphasia Using an East – West Approach For Treatment
This workshop is for students, faculty, alumni of DRCOM along with other licensed acupuncturists. These workshops are separate where 1 day is dedicated for DRCOM students and the other day dedicated to DRCOM faculty, alumni and other licensed acupuncturists.

About The Workshop
STUTDENTS AND OTHER LICENSED ACUPUNCTURISTS WORKSHOP: June 21, 2025
​This workshop will teach basic concepts of functional neurology to assess damage from stroke with attention to motor impairment and speech issues. Treatment strategies will be discussed and demonstrated using a multimodal approach. Some strategies include electro-acupuncture, auricular acupuncture, scalp acupuncture, and a few neurological rehabilitation techniques to enhance acupuncture treatments.
Traditional Chinese medicine theory and treatment will be discussed as it relates to stroke patients with recommendations for specific acupuncture points. This class was designed to build the bridge between TCM and Western medicine.
There will be hands-on practice for neuro assessments, neuro rehabilitation, and acupuncture.​
