We are proud to announce the Neuro X Acupuncture Residency Program is now accepting open applications. This innovative and unique five-day program is specifically designed to enhance the clinical knowledge of neurological assessment and provide the tools to be able to diagnose and treat patients using cutting edge functional neurology applied to acupuncture strategies.

This program is open to ALL Acupuncturists!
The Neuro X Acupuncture Residency Program has two components- Practicum and Didactic. In the Didactic portion, residents get to take a deep dive in aspects of functional neurology assessments and treatment strategies as it relates to acupuncturists. In the Practicum portion, residents will have an opportunity to practice both functional neurological assessments and acupuncture treatment strategies on real patients and real models.

This program is ideal for anyone licensed acupuncturist who desires to specialize in treating neurological disorders with a focus on one-to-one learning in an actual clinical setting. The Neuro X Acupuncture Residency program is open to ALL acupuncturists and can be broken down per day based upon the needs of each resident. It is NOT required to take 5 consecutive days.
Every acupuncturist has a fundamental working knowledge of the basics of biomedicine and neurology. However, in the last decade or so there has been an explosion of new research in the field. While working in a busy practice, it can be difficult to stay current on the many breakthroughs which are occurring, and even harder to determine how to best incorporate these new findings into practical clinical applications.

Dr. Gorsuch is an expert in this field and has been involved in a grand rounds program with medical doctors. He has received overwhelmingly positive feedback from these physicians, who frequently suggested he open his residency to non-medical doctors.
Based on his learning and education along with his clinical outcomes, Dr. Gorsuch has decided it is time to share his knowledge and experience.
After completing this Residency Program, you will be able to:

• Utilize quick and easy neurological exams in clinical practice for new patient exams and re-exams
• Design more effective treatment protocols based on medical history and neurological assessment
• Maximize your point selection for specific results such as modulating the peripheral and/or central nervous system
• Assess overall neurological function and use neurological strategies to improve brain health
• Use quick and easy neurological exams to demonstrate objective improvement and verify your treatments are working
• Confidently and accurately communicate the benefits of your treatments to medical professionals ranging from primary care providers to neurological specialists
• Use frequency specific currents to acupuncture points to increase specific therapeutic effects
This program is designed to both educate and inspire! Utilize the material at your own pace- augment your existing examination skills with a Functional Neurology paradigm to assist in your decision-making process or totally re-imagine the clinical aspects of your practice!

Neuro X Acupuncture Residency Practicum:

Day 1 8:00am – 5:00pm (w/ one hour lunch break)

Learn the neurological foundations of acupuncture therapy

Learn Electro-Acupuncture using multiple EA devices

Understand when to use Microcurrent Vs. Millicurrent

Learn how chronic pain affects the Central Nervous System
-
Learn the neurology of Auricular Acupuncture
-
Learn Electro-Acupuncture treatments using scalp, ear, and body acupuncture incorporating neurology
-
Hands-on practice with real patients or models

Day 2 8:00am – 5:00pm (w /one hour lunch break)

Learn multiple functional neurological assessments

Learn how to assess different neural pathways before needling acupuncture points

Review regions of the brain responsible for central pain syndromes
-
Assess dermatomes as they relate to neurogenic pain

Learn about Trigeminal integration into the CNS and how it affects autonomic function

Learn more manual acupuncture and Electro-Acupuncture techniques for certain conditions

Hands-on practice with real patients or models

Day 3 8:00am – 5:00pm (w/ one hour lunch break)

Learn about the Frontal Lobe along with assessments and how to incorporate those findings into acupuncture treatments

Learn about the Parietal Lobe along with assessments and how to incorporate those findings into acupuncture treatments

Learn about the Cerebellum along with assessments and how to incorporate those findings into acupuncture treatments
-
Learn different acupuncture strategies using manual acupuncture and Electro-Acupuncture with specific frequencies for better patient outcomes

Learn different neurological rehabilitation strategies to enhance treatment outcomes
-
Start the introduction of combining neurology, technology, and acupuncture together in a single treatment

Hands-on practice with real patients or models​

Day 4 8:00am – 5:00pm (w/ one hour lunch break)

Learn how to establish baseline parameters on initial medical evaluations

Learn techniques to assess autonomic irregularities

Learn about the Inferior Parietal Lobe along with assessments and how to incorporate those findings into acupuncture treatments

Learn about the Temporal Lobe along with assessments and how to incorporate those findings into acupuncture treatments

Learn different neurological rehabilitation strategies to enhance treatment outcomes
-
Learn Neuro X Acupuncture treatment strategies for better patient outcomes

Hands-on practice with real patients or models

Day 5 8:00am – 5:00pm (w/ one hour lunch break)

Learn how to communicate a treatment plan to patients

Learn marketing strategies to build a referral network

Learn how to incorporate a “top-down approach" with patients

Learn how the Dorsal Lateral Prefrontal Cortex plays an important role in acupuncture treatments

Learn neurological rehabilitation strategies for the DLPFC

Learn Neuro X Acupuncture treatment strategies for better patient outcomes

Conclusion of Residency Program
This is a one-on-one personal instruction residency program designed to increase your clinical skills for specializing in neurological disorders. There will be discussion regarding neurological assessments and interpretation of results, discussion of intended patient outcomes, review of treatment plans, point selection review and why, and all questions answered.
