About the event
Description: This workshop will teach basic concepts of functional neurology to assess damage from stroke with attention to motor impairment and speech issues. Treatment strategies will be discussed and demonstrated using a multimodal approach. Some strategies include electro-acupuncture, auricular acupuncture, scalp acupuncture, and a few neurological rehabilitation techniques to enhance acupuncture treatments. Traditional Chinese medicine theory and treatment will be discussed as it relates to stroke patients with recommendations for specific acupuncture points. This class was designed to build the bridge between TCM and Western medicine. There will be hands-on practice for neuro assessments, neuro rehabilitation, and acupuncture.
