About the event
Workshop Description: This workshop will teach students how stroke affects the brain and causes impairment of movement in the upper and lower extremities as well as speech. Students will learn why it’s important to understand which side of the brain was damaged and will learn simple neurological exam assessments to help with treatment strategies using acupuncture. Traditional Chinese Medicine theory will be discussed as it relates to stroke patients with recommended acupuncture points. There will be hands-on practice during this workshop.
